Curriculum vitae

My research interests are focused on early cognitive development. I currently serve as director of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at the University of Tennessee.  Research in the DCN lab is focused on the development of attention in infancy, and the impact of developmental change in attention on perception, learning, and memory. Multiple psychophysiological and behavioral measures are integrated into the majority of experiments run in the lab in order to gain greater insight into early development. This approach is being used to examine three areas of research: brain-behavior relations and the development of attention, individual differences in infant visual attention, and the effects of attention on categorization, face processing, and memory in infancy.

Kelly Roth, M.A.
Doctoral Student

kelcroth@vols.utk.edu
Curriculum vitae

I am a fifth year doctoral student in the Experimental Developmental Psychology program. I was in the Chancellor's Honors Program here at UT during undergrad and graduated cum laude in May 2015 with a B.A. in Psychology Honors. My research interests include perception, attention, and social neuroscience. I successfully defended my masters with a minor in statistics in November 2017. Currently I am working on my dissertation, which investigates neural correlates of sub-categorization and individuation of other-race faces in infancy and how this relates to in-group/out-group biases later in life. If there is one thing you should know about me, it's that I love cats!

hmille21@utk.edu
Curriculum vitae

My name is Hannah Miller and I am the lab manager of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience lab. I graduated from Maryville College in 2015 with a B.S. in Neuroscience. My senior thesis explored the effects that music has on cognitive performance, particularly long-term memory. Cognitive neuroscience, particularly attention, perception, and sensation, is especially of interest to me and I plan to further my education in the future in order to continue conducting research on these topics. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat and two dogs, playing my violin, and hiking.
